Happiness is a hot 10-cavity mold...

I had some free time today while the wife and daughter went shopping, so I fired up my H&G 51... I had not cast with it before... sooooo heavy, and I only have a 10 pound LEE furnace... but I kept a burner hot to sit the mold on when I had to add lead to the LEE, and gave it a try...

In about 3 hours of casting, I had just under 1,000 boolits cast!!! WOW!!! I was amazed..... and happy... I've been looking forward to trying this boolit... They dropped at 149 grains with my alloy (little light), and measured at .358... a couple were .357, and a couple were .359... gotta expect a little variation with all those cavities....

The H&G 51 is my go to bullet. It has a lube groove the size of the Panama Canal. Never had any leading issues with it.
I have the 51 bb also and the 51gc, both in the 4 cavity. Great bullets for 38 and 357. They shoot awesome in the Rossi 92 and the Model 27. Also shoot them in the 3" sb S&W 36.
My only 10 cavity H&G is the S55 for the 380. I shoot the Mac11A1 submachinegun in 380 a LOT and it NEEDS that kind of production!
I tried it ONCE without mould guides and my arm hurt for a week! The 20lb Lee pot barely keeps up. The only issue is heating up for the first casts.....even preheating it, sometimes it takes up to 10 casts to get it up to temp. But once it does, LOOK OUT!
