Not sure if these have been discussed here, but the wheels are turning.

a 97 gr aluminum bullet with a 10' muzzle flash and a speed of 3,000 fps from my 45-70 levergun is not my idea of a home defense round.
if he really wants to get something going then that same design with a lead core for the 38/9mm/380 with a low flash powder and a softer jaxket would be a bit more marketable.
a 38 snubbie with a m/v in the 1500 fps range would most likely sell
it would bring back the old jugular series of ideas.

I think there's tons of possibilities. These and other aluminum rounds could function as sabots. Make them HP's and have a pointed steel insert. That way you get a very hard, lightweight package with a penetrator going REALLY fast. Imagine in 7.62(.308/.311) or .223, talk about zing.

A 10' flame????

At point blank for a pig hunt you would kill'em and cook'em at the same time...lol
