Does anyone have a hardness tester aroind Colorado Springs

That could help me check hardness on a bunch of lead muffins that I need to separate? They are either linotype or ww.

If your just wanting to check each muffin for either being Lino or WW.
I would think a automatic centerpunch should give you a
physical difference that is easily seen with the naked eye.

I ended up looking at the cast iron skillets they had and the impulse to run down there was almost to great too bear! :mrgreen:

I think it would.
you should get a large dimple with Lead alloy,
and just a tiny spot on Zinc or FE

also, back to the op,
maybe rounding the point would help make
a dimple size differentiation between Lino and WW alloy.

You can sort those with a screwdriver.

The WW will scratch easily.

The LINO will be difficult to scratch.

You will have no trouble. You will see what I mean after a few scratches.
After you do a dozen of each, you will be able to tell the difference by sight.
