Did a search for it. Couldn't find it. I was dreaming of a great place to live and that thread crept into my memory.

I think if I'm correct a foriegner bought it. I seen it on Fox just a month or so ago, if it's the same thing/thread I'm thinking of.

Thanks for the replies, but the one I'm thinking of was quite a spell back. More than a year.
It was about starting our own town and folks were chiming in on how they could add value to the project based upon trades, skills and what not.

Maybe you're right. I'm not sure.

there was a town out in Wy...basically 1 house and a gas station if IIRC, and land for sale. The previous owner had declared it a town out there and had it up for sale on Ebay??
That's the one I seen on Fox month, maybe 2 months aog that had sold to a foreigner.

I remember a discussion of starting a retirement community for shooters and firearms enthusiats. It was not directed at buying an existing town, merely a discussion of how nice it would be to live in a place that was built around the shooting hobby.

Yep. That's it! Thanks so much for finding it. 8 pages long. Should be a good read.

I would make my choice based on other factors. Shooters, cast or otherwise, or still people and many of them are not fun to be around.

Biggest drawback I can see is it would be dang near impossible to find any used wheel weights for free from the local tire shop.:groner:

Would probably have to travel for hours to find any prairie dogs to shoot at too, but already have to do that.

Just think of the local convenience store... Aisle 1 - ammo. Aisle 2 - brass, Aisle 3 - primers, Aisle 4 - gunpowder, Aisle 5-8 - lead alloys, Aisle 9 - reloading equipment, Aisle 10-15 - guns, Aisle 16 - hardware, Aisle 17 - grocery items, Aisle 18 - frozen foods.

Yup, it would be such a pitty.
