Gun Control -- Urgent !!!

The Full Article Here: http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSTRE59E0Q920091015 U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to

force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By

signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Please forward this message to others who may be concerned about the direction in which our country is headed.

We are being led like a lamb to the slaughter (Socialism/Dictatorship).

Really not so "urgent". Article is from 2009 and this has to be the 5th or 6th time it's been resurrected and blasted around the Internet like Chicken Little hollering "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"

While an international treaty has been proposed...not even a draft of any such document has ever been publicly presented because (a) it wouldn't a snowball's chance in H*** of getting through the U.S. Senate and (b) two of the South American governments (Argentina and Brazil) involved...major arms exporters like the U.S....don't care for the idea of being told where and to whom they can peddle their goods.

Mostly baloney.

The treaty IS a real danger, but there is a large majority of Senators that have said that
they will not sign it and it means NOTHING if not ratified by the Senate.

No question that the international leftists would love to take away our rights, along with
some US anti-gunners, too, but the chance of this actually happening are very remote.

My wife got this recently too and got all excited.
Unless you're a youngun, you may have forgotten that Hillary and her significant other tried to do the same thing when they were running things in the 90s. There is nothing new about this news.

What state passed a law last week (I am getting old and forget things like this) basically saying that no treaty or federal law can or will deprive it's citizens of their firearms? This is a direct result of this talk of a international ban of guns.

There's only a few states with any cajones left to pass such a bill. Montana being one.

Check the list of governors and mayors against guns. Yes, this is old, but the sneaky state dept has a way of committing the US without ANY legal justification, via UN. Geneva, Warsaw, WTO, WMF, IMF, Kyoto, etc. Only way to stop this and a lot of other stuff is to elect people who will remove the rest of the world from the sugar tit. Bush2 tried this but got beat up so bad he finally gave in. Watched the entire F&F house committee meeting, the dems are really trying to pull a fast one. Chicago rep implied straw sales are a misdeamear vs FELONY - jail time. But the US sends $B and helicopters to Mex to solve their imm. problem from the south. Real gun problem will be local LEOs and govs, like schools who claim some separation of church and state. Enforcing non-existent laws.

Yeah...... they can pass all the bills they want. But the slogan of Texas Independence was "Come and take it!" In reference to the Mexican government wanting to reclaim a cannon used to protect the town of Gonzales. That cannon was fired on the Mexican military that was sent there BY A WOMAN!!

The tradition continues........

Any treaties the white house wants to sign, whether U.N. or international has to be ratified by the senate.

You think that background check data was destroyed? I think it was started in the 70's. Who ratified Obamacare? Do we really want an armed rebellion against gun confiscation? Last one was the CW - look at the results. It was about federal power, not slavery. With the military and LEO status now, I believe they WOULD enforce it, history backs me on that , that is where the paycheck comes from.

Never GONNA HAPPEN, they couldn't deal with all the arms and ammo in Iraq. They resorted to just trying to bury them and that didn't work.

This country is bigger than Iraq, more private arms and ammo, and firearms have been inbred into our society.

I would look to a possible bigger problem, THE GANGS POTENTIAL TAKEOVER WITHIN THE MILITARY. Many many Street Gang Members have joined the military over the years and their first loyality is STILL ALWAYS to the GANG.

Gang Loyality, Drugs, Heavy/Light Weapons Training, advancement in rank and you have a problem the miltary would just as soon ignor that it exists.

Alaska is suing U Sam for enforcing a low sulfur fuel treaty that is UNRATIFIED. This admin doesn't care about law, they want to hold us to Kyoto, UN, anything else to control us. UN also is trying to get a world wide (that means US taxpayer) tax for welfare, energy, sales and anything else the scum can think of. Bush II tried to unfund the UN and keep junk wood out of the US housing market but got beat up badly by the special interest groups(his financial backers).
