So just before the holiday I was surfing Craigslist looking for something unrelated to boolits of shooting when I happened to see an ad for "Bar solder" and it was in my own town.

Turned out to be about 6 pounds of "HALF.....CMC.....HALF" bar solder.
I am thinking it is Crane Metal Corp. 50-50 bar solder. 4 or 5 full sticks, plus a few half sticks.

NOt bad for a negotiated price of $5 (down from $10 because it was 'corroded'...)

As I was leaving the guy says, "Oh, by the way, do you want this?"

"This" turned out to be a full bar linotype ingot with the ear-loop broken off.

For another $5, how could I say no????!!!!????[smilie=w:[smilie=w::mrgreen:

Nice. Love craigslit finds. I bought like 150 pounds of %2 silver solder bars for like .50 a pound a couple years ago. The silver in them along is worth a heck of alot more than that now (around $1500 of silver alone).

2% of 150lbs is 3lbs of silver for $1500?

OOps i gues your right at $28/ounce. Only problem is seperating the silver out.
