Use it as pure tin. The benefits are the same as tin in commonly used concentrations.

Up to 2% any more is wasting the metal.

I melt my pewter into half pound ingots, and just consider it tin. Eight ounces in twenty pounds is slightly more than 2%, but close enough. enjoy Mike

There have been a lot of variations on pewter content. At one time, years past, pewter contained lead. Modern pewter doesn't, just as solder doesn't, today. I came into a couple hundred pounds of modern pewter, formulated in 2002/2003. I was assured that it was 92.5% tin, 6% antimony and 1.5% copper. It is a wonderful alloy for lead and WW's.

What I was given was about 700 belt buckles. They were thinly brass plated with the steel hardware on the back. I contacted the maker and was given the information I listed above. The buckles were cast with the wrong logo and the brass plating was poorly done. I have melted about 300 of them, cleaned the dross-plating & steel fittings- and cast them into Lee and Saeco ingots. It takes approximately 3 buckles to fill a 1 pound ingot mold. They melt at low temp, less than 500, and are really bright, shiney ingots. I haven't put my Cabin Creek tester on an ingot yet. That's everything I know about pewter.
