I turned 65 on the 16th of May. My son walked in and laid a package in my lap and said open this for me. I dug into the package and found a Remington 1943 03a3. He says to me happy birthday old man, you don't turn 65 but once in a life time. Well I had tears in my eyes! Took a couple of cleaning sessions to get her cleaned of all the cosmo. They had filled the bore with a solid slug of grease from the chamber to the muzzel. Slugged the bore at .301-.310. I have a .312 sizer for my 450 and sized a few to that size. Now to load some test loads and learn to shoot this old rifle. Not had much experience with rifles yet.

65 ?? Hey I got shirts older than that. ( Smiley face )
That son of yours seems to be an OK boy.
Happy B-day and enjoy the rifle.

Bill:
Congratulations on your birthday. Congratulations on your new rifle for your birthday.
Most of all Bill, congratulations on your son.
My wife has a son that hasn't spoken to her in 3 years. She hasn't been able to have
anything at all to do with the two grandchildren for the same time.
You are truely blessed.

Happy Birthday! On the 17th of November I'll be 5 years older than you. Tell your son he can slip north a couple of states with another gift if he wishes. :)

I can't believe your son would think that you would like an old school ASSAULT RIFLE for a birthday present. What is this world coming to?

You raised him right.

I think I'm going to print off your post and hang them all around the house, on my wifes pillow, in her truck.....
Maybe then she'd get the hint...buy me a gun, not a shirt, shorts, sweat pants, jeans, socks or underwear on my birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Easter....ect ect

Heck I even circled some cap and ball pistols in Bass Pro catalog and left it on the end table a month before christmas a few years ago.....She still didn't get the hint...told me she thought I was comparing prices!!!
If she was only blonde.................:bigsmyl2:

It sounds like he is a tribute to his parents. Good work.
