Both the local scrap yards were sold to a third company. Now none of them will sell anything to the public.
Tha local PD range is now off limits, so except for a dribble of free WWs, I'm SOL.
Thank goodness I have never passed up any lead I could get, and have much more, than I'll ever afford primers and powder to shoot.

I had to go into the Southern California Metrogodawful area where there is supposedly no lead last week.
I was waiting for a friend to do the hospital thing, so I drove around a little and got a bunch of free wheel weights etc. I had to drive about 50/60 miles in street traffic and stop at some pretty nasty places, but it payed off.
One guy not only gave me some wheel weights but also some Maxi balls his brother had left at his shop, and a full five pound roll of solder from Nassau recycling corp in NY.
The solder I got says spec at 7241 in tiny numbers but nothing like 60/40.
Any ideas what percentage it may be? I has a "More lead like" look to it than some of the other solders I have scrounged.
I am going to make another trip in about a month so maybe I will drive around some and beat the "No lead in the cities" people to some more of it.
