Shot my new to me 375 marlin today.Shoots the rcbs 275,and the lyman 375449 pretty well. Also tried some flatbased boolits and they shot all over the paper.

Took the 375449 up to 1890 f.p.s.,with h-322,,thats it with that powder,as its 100% plus compressed.Faster i drove that boolit, the better it shot.Only problem is that this sucker sure likes to kick!! Didnt take me long to figure out i wasnt shooting my 30-30!!!!!!!!

put good recoil pad on it I did on mine makes it more fun to shoot 100 rounds in a day

have you tried RL7 I put 37gr into a reformed 30-30 case and I clock about 2100fps using gas check bullets size 377 I think plan base need to be sized to 378 to fly good
you can stuff a little more powder into it maybe 1.5gr but I load on a progressive press and any more spill on the way the next station
I know guys that jam 39gr into a 375win but he hand throws the powder in a 1/2 charge and mashes it with a wood dowel throws the 2an uses his dowel and seats the bullet

the 375 Marlin is very strong action and it loves a full load of RL7 powder

I had a pair of the 375's in Marlin rifles for awhile .
Had one set up for jacketed bullets and the other for cast .

In the jacketed bullet rifle I shot the Hornady 220 grainer pushed pretty well with H335 and the Sierra 200 grainer pushed a bit with AA1680 .

In the cast bullet rifle I shot mainly the Ranch Dog 379-210GC and the Ranch Dog 379-235GC bullet . Both shot nicely in my rifle . I also had a Lyman 375449 at the time and tried them in it as well . At that time I was pushing them mainly with XMP5744 which at best is a medium velocity powder . Later right before I sold both 375's I had started trying H322 in the cast bullet rifle with "promising" results .

FWIW , the Ranch Dog 379-210GC was never produced other then the 4 test molds . You can still get the Ranch Dog 379-235GC and he's in the process of bringing out a 380-250GC which I expect to be a winner as well !

I'll be trying this tomorrow with Unique, Trail Boss, and 5744 loads. Will post results in my Marlin

Not that good. Best load for the Marlin was 5.0 grains of Unique for a 3" group at 100 yards, very mild, like a pop gun. As powder weight went up, so did size of group. Stopped at 7.0 grains for a 5" gp. Trail Boss at 8 and 9 grains also gave a 5" gp. 5744 was interesting as 18.0 grains produced an 8 shot 3 3/4" gp, of course with unburned powder in the barrel and case. These were sized .377". Might try some unsized at as cast .379-.360".

Thanks for the load info. I had dismal results with as cast .380" loads. I will get some Sporting Clays powder and try as you suggest. My grandson loved the 5.0 grains of Unique since there was hardly any kick and very low report. 3 1/2" group was just fine for him as the gong is 14" diameter.
