Alfred, welcome to the clan. Yes you can use lead in the 32/20 rifles. With that PB design you want to stay around 1000-1200 fps, maybe less, maybe more, depends on the rifle. What do you have for a rifle?

Thats a Savage model 23 C or Savage Sporter. Wonderful rifles, I have 3 and I believe there a few other members here with them too. As a rule they are shooters and love cast. I use the Lyman 311316GC design almost exclusively in mine and get about 1-1 1/4" or smaller groups at 75 yards at approx 1400fps. Mine wears an ancient Weaver K4. I just love those rifles. My other 2 are in 25WCF or 25-20Win. I don't recall my load but 8-10 gr 2400, 4- 4.5 gr Unique, 13-14 gr Rx7, 8-9.5 gr 4227, 11-12.5 gr 4198 should get you in the ball park of 1000, 1200 fps out of a rifle. Watch your brass as it tends to stretch, (or even shrink!), at an uneven rate. Trim to your shortest cases and try the Lee Factory Crimp Die and Collet Sizing die to get rid of a lot of issues. Then laod it up, find a feild or woodlot and enjoy the finest small game and woods walking rifle ever made!!!
