NOE RG-2 molds

Having a hard time with boolits sticking to the pins.
Gets a little better when the mold heats up, but still sticking pretty bad.
Any ideas on how to fix this, or just get the mold hotter?

I smoke my pins with a bic lighter. It puts less smoke than match. After you heat up and use the mold several times the pins start working better.

I have heard of guys using kroil.

How are you pre-heating the mould?

I have three RG4 moulds, followed the break-in directions, and never had a problem. Unless I numb it and leave the last pour in them when I'm don't casting. THAT'S a pain in the butt.

Anyway. I lay my mould on top of the pot to preheat it, pins down, but not in the lead. Mine jump off the pins. YMMV.

HP boolits always require HOT pins for good release, pre-heating really is a requirement for a good casting session.

get the pins and mould hot, cast fast, lightly smoke the pins only and you should be good to go.
