I recently bought about 75# of scrap lead from a recycler @ $0.25 a pound. There was a large amount of battery cable clamps in the bucket.

When I went through the WW's with the dikes I also tried them on the cable ends. The cable ends seemed softer than the lead WWs. When I melt them should I consider them pure lead? They seemed very soft.

I found 1 that was either brass or copper.

I am open to suggestions!

The battery clamps I have are soft enough to consider them pure lead.

Yep. Pure or darn close to it. I have melted many.
Just got gifted a roll of scrap lead sheeting. Also pure or close to it.
