Man , I could sit in that chair, and sit and sit and sit and sit and sit some more and just stare at the water and the mountains.

Wow, that's eye candy for a flatlander like me. I always wanted to visit the mountains, now I can't walk far enough to do much exploring.

What brand of hawk are they? I enjoy watching most birds fly, but hawks/eagles and ducks/waterfowl are my favorites. Watching a goose drop several hundred feet in a few seconds with the falling leaf maneuver is a real treat. As a private pilot I can only envy them for their flying demonstrations.

That does look familiar.

Those are osprey. I am guessing Jim took those pictures right at the end of my road.

I couldn't spy either a beached whale or a ring around flathead lake in either of the first two photos. I can only assume Ric's semi-annual bath is still a week away.

Beautiful country.

Rick-
Actually the osprey where up on Horseshoe bend The ones by your road where sitting in trees down by the hatchery, eyballing the lake, too far for good photos

As far as what "brand " of hawk they are Osprey, the only hawk that will dive into water.

I could see that wasn't the ones at the hatchery when I drove by today. These ones live in a slum, as compared to that nest! :)

I rode my bike a bit further out of town this morning, to Church Slough. I was surprised it was down so far.
