Thinking about making a new purchase of a Remington 722 in 300 Savage into a look alike 40x. I have seen a few RimFire 40x stocks on ebay, can a guy fit that rimfire stock to a full size action? A walnut stock not the plastic ones.

If I can fit it I dont mind having it a single shot only, probably wouldnt be hunting with it other then small game anyways, and the chambering although not what you see in any type of serious comp should be fun with cast bullets. I plan on leaving the rear Redfield peep sight and getting a globe front sight.

40x obsession started when I went to Camp Perry to the CMP, saw an awesome USMC 22lr 40x target rifle and didnt want to put it down, but at $800 I figured I needed to leave it there.

The 40X rimfire stock can be fitted to a Rem 722 action especially if you chose to go singleshot. With a little work, you can drop that 722 into the 40X stock and have what you want.
