In my youth there was no garbage pick up. Everybody just hauled it out and threw it in the woods. I loved to find these target rich piles of trash. My very favorite was discarded toilets which I could turn into white gravel. Today when nature calls, I often stand there thinking about taking my Winchester 94 and shooting straight down into the fixture. I know I should wear protective gear. I think the 30/30 would be adequate. What do you guys and gals think is the best toilet hunting caliber?

When in my teens the farm I lived on had your standard junkyard tucked away in a corner of a pasture. It had all the standard farm targets, old cars, bottles, tin cans, and one old toilet. My main duty weapon then was a RG 22 cal SA with a 4 5/8" barrel. Sometimes I could find a thin spot and it would go through but most just left a grey streak on the toilet. It took several hundred, maybe thousand till I finally broke it all to pieces.

I could shoot through the car windshield if I stood on the bumper but if on the ground they just left a grey streak up the windshield. Good times!

When we were kids back in the 50's and 60' we used to go over to the dump in the evenings to shoot rats. If anyone dumped anything interesting in there we would fill it full of holes also. I'll never forget when we ran into Ronnie Jewel trying out his new Ruger flat top in 44 mag. Those were the days.

I think a .50BMG hollowpoint would do nicely. It blew a bowling pin to pieces at 200yds.

Well, if you listen to lots of folks the 30-30 is only considered adequate for toilet-sized game out to 150 yards or so. Maybe a flatter shooting cartridge would keep the trajectory more flush. Personally I think a 160gr cast bullet would wipe one out with 'the load'. Just bring a good magazine.

Kidney stones accelerated at 32ft/sec squared plus bladder pressure can feel like you fired a howitzer at it. The recoil is pretty intense.:takinWiz:

I remember at the age of 16, my shooting buddy popping a "porcelin pony" at about 100 yards with an 8mm Mauser. It rainned porcelin for 5 minutes. Spectacular./beagle

My brother and I still talk about the fun we had shooting rats in the local dump in the 60's. That was some of the most fun shooting we ever did, and was great practice for duck hunting later in the year. Haven't run into many folks that don't look at us wierd when we tell them about that, but it was some of the best times we had.

Back in the 70's we used to carry 357 and 44 mags on our Dirt Bikes and ride all around next to Mexican border off road. We always would find perfectly good stolen cars sitting off hiding with no tires or stereos missing. It was always Fun to pull the dirty harry and split.

Those cars are still there 35-40 years later rusted to pieces. Kind of Sad but ...

The hidden surprises that i liked was looking inside and finding all the lead boolits.
