I have some ingots labeled "2 Lino 3 WW" that I got when a guy sold me all his gear. This sounds a lot harder than I need for my pistols, I plan on casting up some 7.62x39 someday when I find a mold, would it be more appropriate to save it for that?

I would save the Lino for the 7.62x39 .

That is roughly 1.6% tin, 6.6% antimony. Save for the rifle, but it might even be a little hard for that.

I've got some pure lead, iso lead, and some ww. What might you suggest mixing with it for a rifle boolit?

HI Ya, I use 1# lino for every 3-4# of WW and other pure lead. This according the wise ol man who taught me. It means I end up with something a bit harder than #2 alloy. I shoot 9mm., 45acp, and .38/357 with my casts, but mostly 9mm for steel targets. I hope this helps, I forgot the Bhn hardness numbers ol guy told me it is. :-|

pure 50-50 with them will mimick ww alloy and be pretty close to your isotope cores if they are the big ones.
i'd save them for something else.
my main alloy is ww's and some soft air cooled for most handgun stuff.
and waterdropped for rifles.
i do use an alloy of 4% tin and 6% antimony, for getting that little bit more diameter or hardness when i really do need it.

I would add enough lead and a little more tin to bring the mix down to 93 - 94% lead, 3% tin and 3-4% antimony. AC'd bullets woul have a BHN of 16-17 after 10 days aging. WQ'd would have a BHN of 18 - 22+ after 24 hours. It would make an excellent alloy either way with the lee C312-155-2R in the 7.62x39 and perfect for your pistols AC'd. Adding the lead and tin would also stretch that alloy out for more bullets:D
