can someone with quickload check my math.
i have a 22-250.
i am using a 57 gr boolit seated with the base of the boolit to the bottom of the neck.
in a 22" bbl.
winchester lr primers.
33 grs of h-4831sc.
it looks to be about 80-85% load density.
i am coming up with about 2700-2750 fps.
and about 45k psi.

i am figuring 1 to 1-1/2 more grains in a 220 swift should be in the 2700-2750 range also, with similar pressures.
i had to do the math by hand and ain't to good at it.
i really need a powley calculator.
i appreciate any help.

With all the wisdom you part I am surprised you didn't get any responses. I am sure you will get it figured out. :-)

i just run em over the chrono..
they were close to what i figured velocity wise.
too much unburned powder though.

I'd be glad to help, but I just got quickload and haven't been able to figure out how to enter the cast bullet info. How long is that boolit? M193 FMJ with 34.5gr H3831sc in .220 swift shows 2630fps @ 23800psi. Hope that helps. FWIW the 22-250 shows 2620fps @ 25500psi with 33 gr H4831sc and the same FMJ projectile.

Have to ask, isn't H-4831sc kinda slow for light weight cast?

it is a bit slow, but the velocity with low pressure was hard to pass up.
the problem was the semi/unburned powder in the bbl.
i could get two shots and then fling unburned powder out the bbl.
it worked okay but there is no way i'm going to shoot 2 shots and push a mop down the bore.
that and i have about 12 pounds of 4831 which is only used for fire forming brass anymore.
i might use a tuft of dacron,or bump the load up and re-try again later.
i am using a rcbs 0-55-sp that is swaged to a shorter boolit with a bigger meplat [i can hollow point it too],and i am trying to find an easy launch.
as it is very soft, especially after the swaging and a final sizing, it's comparable to 22lr's boolits hardness.
the groups are showing promise but at 1-1/2"s @-100 there is room for improvement.
i may end up staying at the 2400 fps load i have as it is very, very accurate.
