I recently acquired a couple hundred pounds of roofing lead. I have been melting it down and mixing 3 parts lead to 1 lino and casting ingots. I am currently down to my last bar of lino now. I work at Ace and found some lead free solder 95% tin/5% antimony. It comes in 8 ounce rolls...what would be an appropriate amount to add to a 20 pound pot of lead? Primary usage will be in GC mid range rifle loads.

Thanks...Shooter.

I mix pure 25-1 w/ tin for a good expanding LHP up to 1200fps+. At 20-1 you'll get a bit more vel. So You would need 1/2# of solder for 10# of lead. Unless yo uget the solder cheap, pure tin form Roto maybe be more cost effective, or just get some more lino @ $1-$2/#.

10-1 has been a rifle standard for years.
thats 10 lbs of tin to 100 lbs of lead.
you can up the lead lino mix too.
i add soft lead to my ww's when i have enough size to give up, especially in my revolver loads.
