I have found that the lee factory crimp die is crimping my lead bullets to a smaller diameter than when cast. I am chucking it. I am using a five station press and would like to seat and crimp at different stations. What brand seating die do you all recommend I use in that final station that will not change the diameter of the bullet when it's run through it?
Thanks

Just knock the carbide ring out of the FCD and use it.

A separate plain old Lee steel taper crimp die in the last station has worked extremely well for me since 1993. Same success with 9x19, 45 ACP and 10mm.

I use the Lee seating die raised up so that the roll crimp does not touch. The stem is lowered to get the boolit to proper depth. The next station has a Hornady TC (taper crimp) die. This just closes the belling with no over crimping that will resize the boolit.

I took the .40 crimp rng out of my carbide factory crimp die and put it into the carbide factory crimp die intended for .45 Colt. No more undesired fnal sizing. The .40 crimp ring will fit most Lee powder through dies too. So my seater die seats and de-bells without crimping, the altered crimp die crimps lightly.

seat in one die, crimp in the other, and yes, everyone else is right, take the ring out of the crimp die.

Crimp and then pull the bullet, inspect the bullet and if the case mouth leaves a mark on the lead, back it off some. Deburr your brass.

iif it's a taper crimp die it really won't matter who's you use.
just back it out a bit further till you get just the proper ironing of the case mouth.

I use the RCBS three die carbide set. The seating die gives me a perfect crimp on my .40 S&W loads.
