I undestand that room has to be made for newer post, but how long does a post have to be dormant before it is dropped?

Well if your talking about the S&S forum it's 30 days before I soft delete it. As to the other forums they just keep getting moved further and further down the line. steve k S&S moderator

Sometimes the original poster will also ask to have a topic removed, and they disappear faster.

I know when I joined here it took months to get though the old posts it was worth it.

I just checked and my ist post is still there.
