Well, I got started reloading last year, started thinking about casting my own in November 2011. Since then I've been collecting lead, used molds, lube/sizer, etc. I still don't have a melting pot but a friend of mine invited me over to use his, he's been casting for a lot longer than I've been alive... but hasn't done it in a long time.

Now, 4 months later, I got to use his Lyman Mag-20 to cast some boolits of my very own while he sat along side and told me of his adventures. (I have found great value in listening to what my elders have to say... I quite enjoy it).

Anyhow, I cast them Monday, sized/lubed them Tuesday, and loaded them up tonight (Wed). It sure is a nice feeling when everything comes together and you see the final product of your own making.

I also want to thank everyone here for all the knowledge provided for me to soak up... and another friend of mine (locally) that got me interested in guns so that I will always be broke.

Now those are some nice lookin' boolits. Keep up the good work. I just cast up about 260 9mm 124 gn. day before yesterday. Ran out of gas. Will be up and runnin' again in a couple of days. I've got to cast about 800 9mm's to load up my new (to me) brass. Now for that gas...BC

Lol, you were just waiting for them to demand pictures, weren't you? That's great looking stuff there too. This really is a good rewarding hobby, it's physical in that it puts the end results in front of you quickly. Good work.

Love to cast boolits!

Ron

Those are really some nice looking boolits, what alloy did you use? What I tell my son and others that are starting out in this great hobby is not being able to afford all the equipment at once is what birthdays, father's day, and Christmas presents is all about. Just add them to your wish list. When I'm asked what I want for a gift I usually give them a part number, it works. :lovebooli

Kept it simple with straight up wheel weights. Hooray for free boolits! [smilie=p:

Mighty fine job there Junker!
Wish my 1sts looked that good!
May I ask - what method did you use to lube those?
(Being new to this adventure as well.....)

Thanks. I used an old RCBS Lube-a-matic that I bought second hand. I used white label 2500+ lube. I heard about it on this forum and ordered it from http://www.lsstuff.com/lube/ I think it's made by a member here.
