I have just gotten a Lyman #313492 mould that makes about a 93 gr. waddcutter. Could anyone suggest a small-game load for a Ruger Single-Six in .32 H&R? Thanks.

Try around 2.5 grs of Bullseye. I was fiddling with a 32 S&W Long yesterday with 2.2 grs. Bullseye, and a wadcutter. Just some offhand plinking, but seemed pretty accurate, and snappy enough for small game. The longer case accounts for the extra powder in my suggestion. Good luck.

I'm sorry Dale, I meant to get back to you after you called the other night. I went back and looked through my loading records and everything I've done with this bullet has been in .32 S&W Long (where 2.5 grains of Red Dot is the hands down winner). I've had very good luck with HS-6 and Accurate Arms #7 in the .32 H&R cartridge. Loads I would try would be 5.0 grains of HS-6 (for about 1000 fps) and 5.5-6.0 grains of AA#7 (for around 1100 fps). Either one ought to make an excellent bunny load. I've shot a fair number of ground squirrels with that bullet in .32 S&W Long at around 900 fps, and it works very well.

This mold design was the first one I bought at the time I started casting (1981), and I don't think I've heated it up for at least 15 years. I don't think I've tried it in the 32 Mag, either. Another entry on the "TO DO" list.
