Pick the best one option to turn an '06 into a .22LR

LEE 115gr GC "soupcan"

Lyman 115grFN 3118, classic .32-20 slug

RCBS 155grFNGC (another classic design)

or one of the SAECO .32cal SWCs

Back as a teenager and not knowing any better, a buddy and I ran a bunch of "soup cans" through our .30-30's at top speeds with fine accuracy so I know it works. LEE molds have thier place but I'm looking for something with a little more quality/durability.

I'm leaning toward the RCBS mold but just wondered what others might have found.

The RanchDog 115gr would work well, nice big flat point.

I use an H&G number sixty-seven , works right well on bushy-tails ;)

I would opt for the NOE version of the 3118. My Lyman 311008 casts .314"+.

whichever is closest to the shape of your throat.
a gas check would be a plus.
you could most likely find good 30-40 yd loads without the check, and still have the option of more speed.
a flat nose for hunting is usually the best.
i use the rcbs 98 rnfp in my 30 carbine revolver, pushed along at 1k velocity.[it's a plain base]
i have taken, prairie dogs, rock chucks, grouse [a duck] and one deer with it in the revolver.

3118 should be Ok as long as you keep it a 22. You might need a gc if you kick it up some. The Lee 113 has done good work for me in 30-30 & 308 even @ 2400 fps.

I voted for the 311-008, but my personal choice is the 311-465. You can turn the heat up and pop coyote size varmints, or plunk squirrels and rabbits with light Unique loads. A very accurate and versatile boolit.
