So how would you make an expander die for 9mm work with a Dillon 550 that only has 4 stations? I don't like to seat and crimp in the same station.

My Diilon is set up with the expander as part of the powder measure. Typically to small as every rloading company in the world thinks you load Jacketed in a 9mm.

RFR has it right look at a 38 or 357 Dillon powder drop tube and shorten to suit your adjustment needs!

If Dillon can't set you up, a Lee brand combination expander and powder drop die is a possibility. As runfiverun says, consider the 38 special version as it will be a little larger and you won't be swaging your cast boolits to undersize when you seat them.

The fly in the ointment is that the 38 special expander is shorter, not longer. Try a 38 S&W expander, should you feel the need. I use the 9mm expander and call it good.

When I use a Lyman M die in my Dillon 550B. I size the lubed brass in a single stage. Tumble it clean then run it through the progressive with the M die in station one. Not a big fan of dry sizing cases anyway.

Dillon’s "D" powder funnel should work for the 9mm. I just recently got setup for 38 on my Dillon. The D funnel is to short for 148gr wad cutters. And undersized in diameter for a 358“. Just about right for the 9mm. I wrote Dillon and there response was to flare the case larger. I kid you not. My D funnel expands deeper than my 9mm funnel. However that’s not to say all funnels Dillon has sold would be the same. My Dillon D funnel expands to the seating depth of a Lyman #358477 and some other 158 gr SWC I have. That would be deep enough for the 9mm with 122gr TC or 147gr FP.

Some brands of 9x19mm cases get wider I.D. as the case tapers while some get tighter.

I do have a 38/357 powder funnel. I may have to try that.
