I want to figure a load using this boolit which casts 100 gr with my range scrap + 2% tin alloy. I know the 71gr Berry's plated bullet load works fine in my two pistols, but I cannot find anything specifically for this cast boolit load. How do I figure it from the 71 Berry's load? or do I figure up the load from another cast boolit load in the Lyman handbook that is lighter than 100 gr and go from there?

As I understand it, you should find the next heaviest bullet and begin with that "start load" and work up. I'm sure others more knowledgeable will chime in.

Were it I, I would start at 2.2 grains of Herco, or 1.8 grains of Unique or WW-231/HP-38 and work up from there Towards a max of 2.5 grains Herco, or 2.2 Grains of Unique or 231/HP-38.

Be careful, there is not a lot of leeway with a boolit that heavy for the caliber Even a couple tenths of a grain could put you over the line.

I have loaded quite a few 84 grain RCBS boolits in 32 acp using 2.0 grains Unique, but have not gone with heavier boolits due to the lack of pressure tested data.

That was what I was concerned about the pressures with that heavy of a boolit.
It may be a moot point if they don't chamber right in my guns too.
An alternative would be to hollow point them with a drill bit which would reduce the weight, I remember somebody on this forum posting about that not too long ago.

HI, first time to reply. I load a 93 gr. Lee rn. with 2.1 bullseye, &1.8 700x, for my
walther PP. Both loads cycle properly. Ken Waters' Pet Loads shows 2.1 bullseye for the 100gr. Rem lead bullet. I started low and worked up until I had proper functioning. What powders are you using?

I shoot a lot of 32acp cast, and the biggest issue is the OAL vs the magazine. A 100 gr Lee will be so far down the case there is a real risk of high pressure. Seating them that deep may also bulge the case and cause chambering problems. I usually shoot the Lyman 313249 at 82gr sized .309 over 1.6gr Bullseye or 2.0gr W231. Accuracy is good and right to point of aim at 25yds.

I have Bullseye and Unique so I would like to work those out if possible.
There was an interesting thread some time ago here where two guys milled down the base portion of the mold achieving a smaller, lighter boolit. Cannot recall where that is now.

I was the one that milled the 2R mould.

Here is the link.

thanks Zardoz I may consider doing just that.
I made up a dummy round today as cast and it cycles fine in one of my 32's. I will try it with little bit of Bullseye and see how it does.
