There was some 2006 canned corn on the shelf so it was target time.
This one was hit across the yard with a 245 grain round nose with a 7/16" card wad and 40 grains of Jacks Battle with my 40 caliber rebarrelled Great Plains Rifle.

The hole in the ground is a crawdad mound. Keeping mower blades sharp is a chore.

Ha! The corn flew away!
Ron, that round nose is the old Lee .41 mag mold. The barrel has a 16" twist made for these

but I like to use light weights for plinking.
What's the significance of the 2006 date?
We eat out of date stuff 2-3 times a year. Just had 2005 Kraft Mac & cheese last Saturday.

One of the cans started to bulge a little, before being shot. There were six cans total so I elected to err on the side of caution.
Yeah, right choice.
Know of a meat packer that found 5,000 pounds of liver, forgotten, in the back of a freezer, ten years old. Absolutely no question it had remained frozen. Sold it as dog food (@ .25 per #) & made some money on it. Said folks came back for more as dogs seemed to find it acceptable.
