I've got an 03A3 that I want to shoot some cast from. I have on hand some WW Waterquenched RCBS 165 Sil boolits. Any suggestions as to powder??

A book max of Unique usually shoots very well with that bullet.

I use 4227, 23gr, 160gr bullet 1700fps, 38gr Varget, 2050fps 160gr bullet , BLC2, 42gr 2100fps160gr bullet, all with plenty of good lube and gas checks.
Also use a 113gr gc with 18gr 4227 , 1550fps.

Herb, Without a doubt, a great starting point is 16.0 gr. Alliant 2400 and any boolit of medium to heavy weight for the caliber. This was recommended by C.E. Harris and is a good load for any milsurp rifle between 7 X 57, through the .30 and .31 cals, and including the 8 X 57. I have been refining this load using at first Ohaus .30-190S, and lately Lyman 314299 (or 311299, same bullet) for years and by using all the sneaky match tricks I know have a load that is scary accurate in my NRA Sporter Springfield.

Another vote for 2400.
