I have a very accurate 6.5 swede and the mold I have for it is a CBE single cavity 150grn bore rider,I find that I'm shooting the rifle more and more and a single cavity mold is just too slow in producing boolits so I want a twin cavity or more.I've looked at the lyman 266 469 as a good buy but my rifle has a short throat and I'm worried that the boolit will be seated to deep to chamber in my rifle so maybe the 266 673 would be the better choice,I don't really want to buy a lyman mold either as thier quality is up and down so if anyone has a better mold idea I'm all for it or the lyman might have to do. Thanks Pat

Why not get Jim to cut you a 2 or 3 cavity mold of what you already have?

Yeap, why argue with success?

I was going that way but I'd like to try different makers and maybe a different mold so I could compare them.I might send him an email and see what happens. Pat

Pat, if your 6.5 is military with a 1-7 1/2 twist, the Lee 170 is available at Midsouth in a double cav. Shoots very well in both of my Sweds. The 469 is also an excellent shooter in mine, but I only have a single cav in it. Keep hoping a double cav will come up on e-bay at a reasonable price.

I'd try the CBE .266132 mold. It does better in my Swede than 268149, and CBE makes at least 2 cavity molds. I must say though, I find that after soting my bullets by cavity to get best accuracy, there doesn't seem to be much production gained.

If your rifle has a short throat DO NOT buy a current-production Lee Cruise Missile, reports far and wide consistently place the diameter at around .2715" to .2720", and with the fat nose it won't chamber in even worn M96 Swedes without putting a full band and lube groove inside the case. Several of us have cut the mould down to enable chambering with the base flush with the bottom of the neck.

Stick with what works. I have a Lyman bore-rider and it doesn't shoot for squat in my Swedes due to the long and oversized throats, but shoots well in a friend's .260. The 266469 works fine as long as your groove diameter is .264" or less. It has a tapered nose, so the first few bands are more or less bore-riding like the .30 caliber Loverins tend to be.
