Check out the Forster Hollow Pointer.

http://www.forsterproducts.com/catalog.asp?prodid=700226&showprevnext=1

It comes in 1/8" for handgun bullets and 1/16" for rifle bullets. You will not be dissapointed.

BUT

If you subscribe to the hard cast bullet dogma, forget it, it won't work with hard bullets.

clamp a thick piece of aluminum or steel to your drill press table. Take your desired hollowpointing drill and drill a hole into the clamped metal.

Unchuck your drill bit and put it point up into the hole you just drilled. clamp a pair of vise grips to it in order to keep it from turning.

Chuck your boolits into the drill press and run them down onto the clamped stationary drill.

you can control depth a couple of ways, none of which are exceptionally accurate. Put a piece of masking tape on the drill bit so when the boolit touches the lead edge you've hit your desired depth. You can also chuck the boolits to a fixed depth as determined by a lube groove or some such cast feature and using the chuck depth limit to regulate hollowpoint depth.

It's an Appalachian-American solution but it works OK.

If me, I would definitely be using a short center drill for such.

OR-------if you are going to shoot a bunch with cast HP's, just buy a HP mold and save yourself a lot of trouble.

I have a Forster Hollow Pointer have used a collet to hold the cast bullet on my milling machine and both work, but not any better than a soft lead SWC.

What if the hole was drilled off center, what would happen then?

AR-15, If you use a method that turns the boolit, it can not easily be drilled off center. But should you succed, the boolit would likely be a wobbler.

+1, the SWC does a great job.
