I melted the 75# ingot of stereo lead today. I drilled a hole in the end and put a wire in it. Hooked it to my deer hoist and lowered it into the pot as it melted. Worked great.
I have a large canvass bag of 1# ingots now and have to figure out how much to add to 20# of WW metal. The stuff is hard and brittle, 7% tin, 15% antimony and 78% lead.
I seen that it took a long time to set up in the molds so I started dipping the bottoms in a bucket of water to speed things up.

Not knowing the composition of your WW blend, it is kind of hard to say; I think I would start at about 1/2 pound to 20 pounds of WW and see what i got.

I should have taken a picture, sorry. I just hooked my deer pulley system to a beam on the barn over hang and held the rope as the ingot melted, letting it down until the pot was full enough. Then I raised it, tied off the rope, fluxed and cast 1# ingots, then left a half pot for the next melt.
The hard part was taking all the stuff to the barn, then putting it all away.
Sure beats trying to cut a 75# ingot. :bigsmyl2:
