A few days ago, a guy brought me some lead boolits he dug out of a berm on a 'black powder only' range. One of them is a bit on the large side. My friend told me it's a hand cast 2.25" bore cannon round. He said he and his BP team shoot them at basketball size targets at 300 yards with a 90% score rate.

I wanna see the mold for this puppy!

Looks kinda like a diabolo pellet.....is the base hollow?

The indentations are from it being struck by millie bullets from .58 caliber rifles after the round was fired into the berm. The base is hollow to just ahead of the waist. My friend said he was going to try to get an unfired round for me. If I get one, I'll photograph it and post.
