I have a few samples of NOE's 120gr GC cast boolit GB that was ran a while back.

I didn't get a mould because I thought, (na I'll never get a 25 cal gun to shoot cast in...) well...

My question is, who has shot this 25 cal bullet and what velocity did you use?

I have an AR15 with a custom barrel and chamber. It's a 223 remington necked up to 25 caliber. :)

I hauled out my QL program and used the 257 TCU data.

H335 at 20gr gives 2,000 fps with the 120gr boolit out of a 16" brl.

Was wondering if I need to slow it down or speed it up or if it's jus right?

Maybe time for a rerun? I'm in; I've got a .257 Roberts and a .257 Weatherby.

if it's a 1-10 twist i'd slow it down just a bit.
one grain should do it.

I have that mold from last year's GB. Sorry I can't be of more help, I finally cast with it just last week, so I haven't loaded it in my 257 Improved Bob yet. This is the only thread I know about discussing loads:

RCBS makes a similar 120gr 25 mold, so you can search for loads for that boolit.

Keep in mind this one mold was available in any combination of 85, 100 and 120 grain with or without hollowpoint. I got 2x100 and 2x120 with one 120 hollow pointed. For a 223 derivative you might consider the 100 grain as well as the 120.

Mine is an excellent mold and I recommend NOE to anyone. Being aluminum and having small capacity cavities, it can be challenging to keep it up to temp in cold weather. A real good preheat, keep the melt right at 700 and don't slow down!

Yes I was thinking the 100gr GC one would be nice along with having that one HP'ed as well.

For now I just want to see how the 120's will shoot if at all.

Too many projects....
