I'm looking for a good boolit to replace my LEE tumble lube bullets for my various 45LC lever action, tube feed rifles.

Is this a good choice? Any other suggestions? I want to keep it in 250-255g range.

it's similar to the 452664 which is my all time favorite levergun boolit for the 45 colt.
what you have to look at is the oal with a seated boolit.
most will not make 1.610. not a problem in most leverguns, but in the brownings it is, [and in most 73's] anything over that will not feed from the tube.
the 452 has a square base.
is easy to cast.
has a good sized lube groove. [important in 24" bbl's]
feeds perfectly [in guns that will take the extra length]
has a good meplat for hunting.
and will easily take being pushed to higher velicity's.

the only downside is lyman has been mostly miss in thier sizes lately.
thier molds are easily lapped out to gain the necessary diameter.

the rcbs molds are usually spot on, the only issues i have had with them recently has been thier alignment pins need adjusting.

Thanks!

I found a good deal on a DC Lyman #452664 and ordered it.

I couldn't decide on the double cavity or the 4 cavity. I figured if Lyman screws up a lot I just gave them a 50% advantage by cutting the cavities in half!
