I am thinking of buying a lee six cavity mold in 9mm. Which one would you all recommend if you had to pick one?

I run the 122 TC and love it.

I use the 124 TC from Lee.

Love this bullet, it feeds well in my Glock (aftermarket barrel) and is very accurate. Easy to lube and cast. The mold did need to be honed for the bullets to really come flying out but it is fairly easy to do.

125 gr RN is the only one that cast large enough for me.

Lyman/Ideal 358345 is one of my favorites for the 9mm

I use a Lee 6 banger 356-125-2R. I have pored 1000's of those little critters. Works well in every 9mm I put them in.

Lee 356-120 TC is my do-all boolit for 9mm. Sized to .357 or .358 and cast from air cooled
wwts.

Lee has a 105gr SWC that's for 38s but works well in 9mm too. Nice economy shooter.

I use the same mold. Shoots and cycles well.

I was thinking of purchasing this 358 mold because I don't have any luck with the 6 cavity Lee 120gn tc. Can't get them to drop larger than .356 and I get terrible leading in all my 9mm's. If I size the .358 to .357 I should be ok.

As Bill said. A bit of Leementing for mold prep and sized at .358 in a Star is very accurate with no leading in all my 9's.

Is my "do all" 9mm bullet also. I've cast several thousand and shot them over 4 gr Bullseye in numerous 9mms without any problems at all, including a couple sub guns. They drop at .358 - .359 out of my 6 cavity mould cast of WWs + 2% tin and I size at .358 and lube with BAC or Javelina. I also load lots of them in .38 Super for use in my Spandish Destroyer and for cowboy action loads in .38 SPL so they feed through M73s. Great lpionking and small game bullet in my 35 Rem also. I've got no leading in any gun with these loads.

If you could find a 358242, you'd have one large enough to size to .357, which my nines seem to like best.

Can't size them to 358 if they drop at 356 no matter how much Leementing is done!

I have found success in all my Smith and Wesson 9mm pistols shooting this bullet sized to .357". Good luck! :drinks:

i ordered a 356-120TC this week and got to casting with it this afternoon , i was pleasantly surprised that the boolits are dropping .359 to .361

i had heard many say that they had trouble with them dropping small. but i went with it any way listening to all of those who say they work great.

I have two Lee six cavity 9mm molds, both nominally 122 grains. One is the Truncated Cone the other is the Round Nose; both have traditional lube grooves. Both cast excellent boolits and require no resizing for my guns when using "hard ball" alloy.

I got the TC for 357 Sig and the RN for 9mm, but both have worked equally well in both calibers. Lube is a very thin coating of thinned LLA with a final dusting of Motor Mica. Leading is essentially non existent and accuracy for both is very good.

Guns: BHP, Glock 26,19, 17 and 23 with Lone Wolf 357 Sig conversion barrel. I've had no feeding or extractions problems with either boolit in any loading in any gun.

They didn't drop at .356, even when it was stock. Your experience may be different. Lee molds are typically oversize in my experience.

I am wanting to get in on a Mihec cramer style 125 gr hp mold. I am told there is a group buy in the works but be danged if I can find it. Personally unless money is extremely tight MP or NOE is the way I would go.

Real purdy boolits there. Pity we destroy them a little.:drinks:

I was making almost that very comment to my wife just yesterday. I work hard to come up with the alloy components, do my best to smelt the proper portions, clean and flux the melt, take pains to make the best lead muffins I can, deal with the tinsel fairy when I have to, cast the alloy with loving care into boolits, lube them, size them (when needed) re-lube them, baby them until they're dry, store them as carefully as I can, load them with great precision, and then blast them away at literally blinding velocity. Then I do it all over again like I've done for the last 40+ years.

I think I may be crazy; wife has never told me I'm wrong.

Here you go: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=126682

As for the Lee six banger, I like the 105 SWC for the most accurate and economical load out of my CZ. I only tested 50 or so of them, and as such I still have to find a OAL that feeds 100%.

I been looking for a group buy on that particular mold for 2 years now in 4 cavity brass. Never found one. This is one mold I would think would be so popular that Miha could afford to stock it on his site and sell them like popcorn before a movie. Only people that wouldn't want one would be the people that already had one! :killingpc

Another vote for this one. If I cast with a water dropped 50/50 mix of Wheel weights and pure lead, I can size and lube them to 0.358" and use them in 38 special and all my 9mm guns. Lets me have a big bucket of boolits for both calibers. Saves me on set up and tear down time.
