I have been shooting a precast RN FN 200 grain. I love them. Just got a sample of some Lee 160 grain bullets (from another boolits user) in the same shape. They seem great too. I havent started casting 45's but I am looking to the 160 to save lead.

I mainly shoot them through various 1911s. Never a feed issue and excellent grouping.

I've put several hundred Lee 200g SWC, as well as factory SWCs thru a friends 1911 no problem. They are pretty flat nosed.

Well, a fellow Hoosier! Howdy.

Haven't tried the bullet you mention, but I have two different 230 gr truncated cone/flat point molds that make bullets that feed just fine in my .45s. But mine are full size and Commander size guns, the shorter ones may get a little iffy, you just have to try things sometimes.

I will primaraly shoot them in a full sized Kimber and a Sig 220. I was looking at the 200gr just to save a little lead. I was looking at Lee because I want to try my first 6 cavity mould. and a .45 makes the most scense to me due to the volume I tend to fire from the .45's

I run that exact boolit through my Para P-10 (Warthog), and even that little of a gun cycles them like any other.

I have a 6 cavity lee RNFP mold that is listed as a 45 Colt Boolit. It has a crimping grove on it. I have used it in both 45 ACP and 45 Colt for several years with good results. Just ignore the crimping grove when loading in 45 ACP it taper crimps anyway.

i use 160,225,and 255 rnfps in the 45 acp no feeding issues whatsoever.
i don't have a 200 rnf but do have a 200 swc.
i use that in the acp and in the 45 colt leverguns/revolvers, lots of stuff crosses over with a little imagination.

I have an Accurate 45-230M, love it, and have no feeding problems with my 1911

I use the 452-200 RF boolit in my Para single stack 45, my Springfield 1911, all my 45acp revolvers (4), and in my Thompson semi auto 1927-A1. Works great!

Lee 230 TC feeds well, but the absolute champ is the 200 gr H&G 68 and accurate clones. Lee's
200 SWC is not an accurate clone, but many report success with it.

The Lee 452-200 RF Shoots great out of my 3 45 autos, Glock 36, Beretta 8045, and Llama 1911, with no failures yet after 1000+ shot out of the 3 guns. The Glock and Llama choke pretty regularly on SWCs I feed them, but the Beretta feeds and ejects everything I have put through it.

No problems with it through 5 different makes of 1911 and a Ruger. Feeds better than 200 gr. SWC.

I looked for an LBT 45-200 for years back when the moulds weren't being produced. Finally found one on E-bay, and got it for a pretty good price. It is a great mould, but I bought the Lee six-cavity and prefer it for production. I think I'm going to have to size differently for my Glock 30SF; the Kimber eats tem sized .452 but they jam the Glock. I have several thousand loaded at .452 and will keep them for the Kimber.

My old Thompson Auto Ordnance 1911 is quite picky against SWC's but feeds Plated, Lead and FMJ RN very well. The Lee 452-230TC has a slightly smaller metplat, but is said to feed just as well as RN and that is why I chose it. I wanted a flat nose boolit but was concerned about feeding and 3 point jams. About a thousand rounds and not a single feed jam with these gems.

If you have feed problems, consider that bullet. What you lose in surface area, you might gain in feeding.

They feed in my 1911s & even my XD. Just watch yout OAL, they load really short. If I had to live in NJ or other state restricting JHP, that would be my bullet of choice.

whiteoak,
I have shot the Lee 452-255 RNFP and the Lee 452-200-RNFP (similar profile) out of three different 1911's with good results.
Good luck, jmsj

I have use the 230 TC bullet for over 30 years in all manner of 1911's and other 45 ACP autos, including my stubby Star PD - no problems. I now use the Lee 230TC version but have not tried their 200 RNFP, but it should work fine.

shoot them in my S&W comander, para P-12,Kimber eclipse pro,no problem,I like the clean holes on paper,When I was learning to reload I had few squibs, and bulged two barrels.Since them got used to shoot only if I saw the hole on the target from the previous bullet.

Just happen to go to the indoor range today and shot the very same boolit. Worked fine in my Colt and shot fairly well to boot.

There are no restrictions loading and shooting JHP'S in New Jersey. Only crime is if used in commission of a felony then it becomes an added charge.

If it will feed empty cases it should feed anything. If it wont then it may just be a little feed ramp work.

I can feed empty's in the kimber only with Wilson Combat mags, the sig will normaly take anything. I do sometimes have some issue with the Kimber with really wide HP's like the noslers. but only with the kimber mags and no name brands. The Wilsons work fine.
I have been casting for about 5 years but only for my 357, 44, 45acp 45-70 30-30 and 9mm and the 9 has given me some grief, so much so I have just been loading rem Gold Sabers for it recently. The 45 mould I have is a Lee TL 230gr and I dont like the mould that well looking for something better. I ordered the 6cavity lee FN and will give it a shot but from what I hear I'm Betting it will be fine. New to this sight and you guys were a great help. THANKS.
