I got my MiHec Brass 4 cavity mould 4 hours ago and I just cast some bootiful Boolits.

My first brass mould, mostly used steel. I'm impressed.

Going to load up some 45 Colt tonight and shoot tomorrow.

Life is good.

IMR 4227 worked GREAT in my Blackhawk. Also Blue Dot.

Gotta love those group buy molds. Dang I got spoiled on my first one.

Good Luck!!! Post some data and targets!

Brian Pierce did an article on this boolit awhile back.
Had three differant levels for it.

Have had real good luck with 13.5gr of HS-6.

I'll second the HS-6 load, either 13.0 or 13.5 worked well in my Blackhawk. So did 11.5gr of HS-6

I'm about to order one of these moulds. Could you tell me;
1) If it's a HP, is the pin flippable so I can cast HP or FP at will, or maybe some of each?
2) What alloy does MH use for his size estimation. I have a choice of 452 or 454 from an unknown alloy?

If you order a 4 cavity you could cast all 3 types at once, flat @ 285gr, penta @ 270gr, and round HP @ 273gr. and the fourth would be what ever you want the duplicate to be. They are great molds.
Can't say what alloy he uses for estimation. I ordered a .452" and its drops .453-.454 so that gives me a little to size down which is the way I like it.

I Emailed MH. He uses WW for an alloy to determine size, a 452 would drop at 453 and a 454 would drop at 455
