Is there a way to clean used corncob media or should I ditch it for new?

I just ditch mine for new. I couldn't imagine a way to clean it that wouldn't result in a mess.

I clean mine by tearing a paper towel into 2" strips and add too a batch of cases . The towel comes out dirty and I toss it . Good Shooting --------Papa Smurf

I use "used" fabric softener sheets in my tumbler to collect the dust from the walnut shells. It works very well. I put 1 sheet in the tumbler each time I clean shells. They might work with corn cob media also, no foul trying it. I got this idea from someone on this web site.

I went with crushed walnut hulls (lizzard bedding). Less dust, seems to last for a long long time. Cob is dusty and relatively short lived in use to me.

When I can get a 40 pound bag shipped to my door for $33 why should I try to clean it?

I also do the laundry sheet trick to control dust and dirt to a certain degree. When I do decide to change the cob in the tumbler I either keep it in a container, large cat litter 3-4 gal. container, or use it immediately for making sandbags with it for filler. A friend uses it in his garden working it in the soil.Robert

Wow! has it gone to $33? when I bought mine it was $18. Still a bargain and I won't be cleaning any at that price.

Another fabric softener sheet user here. They really get black when you run 'em with a load of brass for awhile. It helps keep the static down in the media seperator too.
