Okay, my 15 yr old just stumped me - What did the original factory load for the .35 Rem. look like? I know it was for the 1908 autoloader, but what type bullet and ballistics?

I've googled it to death and not found anything, but I'll bet someone on this forum has one in their collection:D

Here's the best I can find on short notice:

http://thegreatmodel8.remingtonsociety.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/1ddmod8.jpg

and a 1909 Remington catalog that on page 13 states "smokeless powder cartridge with 200 grain bullet, having a velocity of about 2,000 ft. per second."

Don't know but there have been some strange factory loadings for the .35 Rem. I once saw some FMJ factory loads for it. Now, that got me to really wondering./beagle

airc they used the model 8 for guarding prisoners at one time.
the 351 win self loader was used for this too,i think that was what kept it alive for it's life span.

Woody's link answered his question. I wasn't sure if it would have a jacketed bullet or not.

Thanks a lot, guys.

The boy likes his old gear... Check out the gun and the vest in this shot.

Seems like I remember reading that the 1908 was submitted to some countries for military trials - maybe even the USA.

A boy, a gun, and a dog, in the brush, woods, or fields. It doesn't get much better than that. Regards, Woody
