Im buying the above rifle and has a 1/10 twist barrel. Would it be worth my time to cast bullets? I already cast for 40sw and 45acp. Should I size to 309?

Thanks

If you are buying it for 1000 or 600 yard matches it may not. For informal target shooting, practice to 250 yards or so it should be a great cast shooter.

Like everything else, it depends. The .308 Winchester is a fairly cast friendly caliber as long as the bullet fits the barrel.

I would wait until you have the rifle in hand and slug the bore and throat before deciding on a sizing die. I size my boolits to .311" for one .308 Win. and to .313" for another; of course both of my .308's have a military chamber, but as long as their is room for the neck to release the boolit, it seems better to me to fill the throat.

My primary mold for thirty caliber rifles is the Lee 312-185, I have had better luck getting heavier boolits to shoot decently than the lighter ones.
