I just got home from a small local gunshow. I bought two items. For once I found something priced right. I got a NEW Herter's Model 49 lubesizer in the box for $20. It uses lyman H&I dies and Lyman/RCBS top punches. It;s design is much like the Lyman #1 and 45 but it's built like a tank. It can use solid lube sticks. The plunger screws down through a large top nut. The walls of the lube reservoir are 0.350in thick and the large knurled top nut is 1.25x12 thread. the whole thing is cast iron and it weighs 21lbs. I also got an "as new" Pacific Power O press for $30. The guy showed me the ad in the 1969 Herter's catalog and it was priced at $13.49. I offered him that. He said I was close and $20 would take it. If anyone has any experience with the 49, chime in. I'll post a couple pics.

I pulled out my 1969 Herters catalog and found it on page 471. The lubesizer I just bought has "Model 49" cast right into it but it is not the Model 49 pictured. The one next to it is called the "Bulletmaster" and that is the one I have. The Bulletmaster was even more expensive in 1969 at $20.95. I got it for a dollar less than it was new in 1969. No shipping either. An altogether good night.
