I am using this type of handle on a 452374 set of molds, brand new from midway, and I am having a heck of a time getting then to line up every time. I bought the handles at a gin show, could they be warped? Are they just this way and I sure learn to deal?? Anyone else ever have this happen??

It's been so long since I used them, I can't remember if there were alignment problems, or not.

I don't like the nutcracker handles, so modified a set of Lee six-cavity handles. It takes a bit of grinding and filing, and the holes have to be enlarged, but the end result is ease of use.

I still use them with some of my 4 cavity molds and do not have any problems with alignment. Like 462 said if you want you can modify the Lee 6 with a little file work and a drill.

You could also try placing the mold on a block when closing the handle to see if helps your alignment.

or turn the mold over when closing.
i have a few sets of the nut cracker handles and i dump from them upside down and reclose that way.
putting them on the bench to close will align them also,i have a couple of aluminum molds i close this way.

I'll be home from out of town work today. I will give both options a try. Thanks guys for the replies!!

I ended up taking a closer look and the handles we warped slightly. After messing with them for about an hour, I got them to line back up and worked like a charm.
