Has any of the experienced members of this forum any information about the Bo Clerke High Wall that was made back in the 1970s?

A coupla years ago I came into possession of an unfinished receiver, said to have been from that project, but I am stumped as to exactly how the internal parts were laid out. The various holes don't correspond to the Winchester receiver at all.

Being a mechanism junkie, I just have to know! Every so often I set down in front of the confuser, light up my CAD, and try to work it out. I then quit a few hours later with a headache and no logical conclusions. Tonight was one of those nights. . . .

If either of you gents still have those receivers I'd be interested in purchasing them.

7 page of write-up in one of the DeHaas books. Not at all favorable, as he explains, he would not have spent the pages on it except for the number of folks that asked him about that one in particular.
Boils down to heck for strong, not so much on the fit and finish.

IIRC, I ran across a post online in which the poster describe having had the phone hung up on him, by Clerke, and that it seemed a sore point to have to discuss the project. YMMV. Or not.

I ended up with a couple castings and levers in my 'future projects' drawer. Not for sale at this time.

Cheers
Trev

I have looked at several complete rifles over the years and they are some what crude and tacky looking when finished. I believe that Colt bought the design and then never manufactured very many. The rifle's quality wise looked like they were worth about 1/3 to 1/2 the asking prices.

I can't speak on the rifle side of the fence but I do have a 32-40 Clerke tapered mold.
Take a looksee..
