I usually shoot , IMR -4198, SR - 4759, 2400 , etc. in my 30 -06's with my cast bullets.
Today I shot 40.0 grs. of IMR - 4350 with the 175 gr. SAECO 315 HP.

The load was VERY accurate out of my TIKKA 30 -06 today.

Quite a bit more " zip " than I'm accustomed to with my other " mid - range " loads.

Anyone got an idea of the speed of this combination ? BTW, this is out of a 22" barrel.

39.5 grains of H4350 gets right at 2k fps in my 22" M70 with 185.5 grain gas-checked boolits and is the accuracy point for that combo. 40.5 gets about 2045 fps and the groups start to open up significantly. I don't know how you can compare the two 4350s, maybe someone else has better data with IMR variety.

Gear,

That gets me in the ball park. That is close enough for " govt. work. "

Thanks,

Maybe just one less "hollow point job" this year Ben, and you can buy yourself one.

You could work it out fairly accurately by measuring boolit drop at different ranges. Plug in the results into JBM Ballistics or something.
