Morning guys,

Does it bother anyone else that the Lee pots don't have an on / off switch or a power on light - not "heating" just power on ? I know, it's not that hard to unplug it, just inefficient. I've been looking for a lit switch to mount to the housing, lots for auto application - not so much (nothing so far ) for house current.

Standard household light switch would work.

Sent from my rooted, mikg'd, aggressive freedom'd Evo 4g.

I just use a power strip....which includes a pilot light and breaker built in. You can find one at Goodwill for a couple of bucks.

Even on my Lyman furnace I watch the thermometer instead of the lite & still unplug it & the hot plate when done .

Electronic supply store should have a 1/4" 120v indicator & the switch should be rated for the wattage .

When I got my first one I turned it all the way down after using it assuming that would turn it off. Went into the garage the next day, seen it was solidified and for some reason I just had to touch it. Ouch. Not a bad burn but I did learn quick. I just unplug it now.

This is what I do and I plug the light above the casting area into the same powerstrip.
I normally only have time to cast in the evening (after 8:00PM) and usually finish up well after dark. When I finish casting if the light is on, the pot may be still on as well.

Clock and radio are on the power strip also - suppose I could use two.

mooman76, at least it's low enough heat to solidify !!

Thanks GP100man Lowes / Home Depot didn't have switch I want, have to hit electronics store.

No, this isn't a big deal - I just happen to be afflicted with "tinker-itis". Already had to put an in-line dimmer switch on the lube warmer !

Heres the cord I use on my casting pot, has extra outlets and your lighted switch!

A power indicator would be nice, but I have seen way too many swicthes fail to want to leave a pot of lead connected to power.

With my luck all would be fine until I left the house for the day or weekend, then the swicth would short closed and the pot would pick that time to leak.

Even though the RCBS Promelt has a switch, I still unplug it just like I do with my Lee pots, better safe than sorry.

Wouldn't one of the Home Improvement stores hav a switch with an indicator light??
I'll look next time as I have seen these type of switches before.

Radio Shack or other electronics store may have one more of the size that is on the opiginal pot.
One with an LED indicator.
