View Full Version : AA Lights

This is for the Option 1 from the discussion thread.

The coolest little inexpensive light I own. This is a single AA powered Q5 emitter that puts out about 200 lumens and has a flood to throw feature that works by twisting the head or pulling it forward. You'll find these all over the place but most are Q3 emitters and put out a good bit less light.

Price point $15

I have found an outlet for Energizer ultimate lithium AA cells and can provide those for $8 for 4. This is as good a disposable battery as can be found and usually runs closer to $3 per cell than $2. These are one of the few AA batteries that is impervious to heat and cold and will maintain most of their charge for extended periods so perfect for glove box and emergency kits. They also happen to be the highest rated cell at 3000 mAh and support 2Amp continuous draw.

AA ultimate lithiums $8 / 4 ( please dont ask to buy amounts that are not multiples of 4).

I can fit 4 of the lights in a small flat rate box or 3 and a couple sets of batteries for $5.50 (They went up again)

If I recall correctly, the Lithium cells will not corrode and ruin the inside of your torch, either. Great for truck light situations.

How long before you get option 3 going? I'd like six option 1 and 1 option 3 with 16 batteries.

How much will postage be to Australia? If you can put the option 3 in the pack i'll save postage on not needing another international pack.

Thanks.

Will, some questions about this light that I didn't see addressed in the GB discussion.

1. Is it a twist switch or rear clicky? One mode?

2. What is the estimated run time (with 2000 mah Eneloops)?

3. How water resistant is it?

Thanks,

Shawn

1. Is it a twist switch or rear clicky? One mode? Rear Click - one mode.

2. What is the estimated run time (with 2000 mah Eneloops)? about an hour.

3. How water resistant is it? not very due to the zoom functionality. They will certainly survive rain etc, but I would not drop one in a lake and expect it to survive very long. The head slides on an o-ring for the zoom function so by nature is not a perfect seal.

Wiljen, I am interested in a couple of the AA lights and batteries. I am also interested in at least 1 of the Option 3 that was discussed in the Poll. Will these be available to share shipping or is that one down the road a ways? Just trying to combine the shipping if possible.

Not 100% clear about the cost of the batteries. Are they $5.50 for four or $8.00 for four? If it's the latter I've short changed you. Let me know and I'll paypal the difference.

Cheers

Will,

I would like to order 2 AA lights and 2 packs of lithium cells (8 cells), $30 + $16 = $47.

Please combine my previous order for 1 big light and 1 headlamp with this order.

A combined paypal payment for both orders will be sent today.

Thank you.

I had been trying to make sure I could keep up with what all I have going at once. I will probably start option 3 shortly after this one closes. If you want me to hold yours and package together, that should be an option.

You are correct Sir the small flat rate box is $17 to Finland. I always send international orders as birthday presents just so customs doesn't get too interested.

Just got mine out of the Mail Box - - Really a great light, the "push pull" wide to tight beam is SO sweet ! Fits oh so fine between the cigar fingers allowing the thumb for the on / off clicker (nice & crisp on - off).
The Tight beam reached 80 yds EASY. Great work, great price.

Got mine today. Great little lights. Cheap lasers, I tell ya! Wife took one.....

I'm going to have to search back through the posts to see about 14500's and Eneloops. So far just with Duracells, but nice throwers at that.

Nice buy. Thanks.

Hi Wiljen, the lights are great !!! Hope this runs again, lot of friends are drooling LOL

One question, is there a possibility of a switch with a "momentary" capability?

wiljen
03-19-2012, 06:37 PM
momentary may be a problem as forward switches generally take up more space. These have very limited space in the tailcap, but I'll see what I can rig.

I'll have to look at a re-run, maybe after the option 3s and the Hunting lights.

After using the little AA lights for a little time, I must say that one is in the pocket all the time. Really handy for all kinds of things you do all the time.

I would strongly recommend these if they are run again!!!! I'll certainly get a couple more.
