When you are broke, you find a screaming deal?

I know the feeling. A few years ago I was gun shopping. Had gun money burning a hole in my pocket. I went from store to store and couldn't find anything that interested me a whole lot but I settled on something and I don't even remember what. A couple weeks later a guy walks into a gunstore and has a mini-14 with a couple extra 30 rd ruger mags and the gun looks like bran new. He needs money so he's selling. The guy behind the counter will only go $200. The guy with the gun is trying to get him to go $225 cause he really needs the money but the store won't budge. He says these don't resell very good and can't go more. If I'd still had my gun money I would have asked him to go outside so we could deal but as usual, I was gun broke that day.

I went to the used gun rack at the local Bass Pro a couple of years ago. They had a very nice Marlin 39 Mountie in very good condition with $300 on it. I had to pass due to some pressing financial needs at the time. I later bought one for $425 that wasn't as nice.

I didn't even know they packaged that large of a box of V Max's. I can't find a deal money or no money.

midsouth has them sometimes. They come and go. That is why I save all year for the AFTER new years deals.

you can order the Zmax (green tipped Vmax) bullets right now for $58/500 comes out to $0.11 each. I'm local to the 5500 pack and it doesn't get me excited.

HA! My handle derives from a time in my youth when I came upon a Harley at a great price, but I was $400 short. The name stuck, and I still am....

Your odds off winning the lottery are just about the same whether you buy a ticket or not. :veryconfu

Actually, Rick, your odds of winning the lottery are about the same as being struck by lightening twice. I once told my Dad that. He responded "Maybe I otta play, I've been struck by lightening twice!" I told him he had used up his luck.

I have noticed the phenomonen. I'll be low on $$$ and go to a gunshow and there will be all kinds of deals.....

Next time I might go loaded for bear and you can't beg a seller to even make you a decent deal.

But, guess I can't complain. I've had a few days when things were just right./beagle

Story of my life.
I only had enough money for one 43 Egyptian Rolling block when they were $49.00
I didn't have enough money to buy even one No. 4 Lee Enfield priced at $9.95 when the local department store had hundreds of them in barrels.
I didn't have enough money to buy more than one Garand when Lever Arms had them for $99.00 CDN ( the CDN dollar was worth about 68 cents U.S. at the time).

There are a lot more buys around and a lot more adds in the paper than there were three or four years ago. There were never any guns listed in the Sporting Goods section of the classifieds, ran about one or two a year lately there are one or two a week.

I will buy a (one) lottery ticket when the pot gets really big because as they say "You gotta play to win" but all I will need is one if the good Lord choses to smile at me.

Today the local Sunday newspaper doubled it price from $1.50 to $3.00, plus tax, so it is no more Sunday funnies for me. I think I am about to see the death of another newspaper. Our other local paper that used to publish 5 days a week has cut back to three days Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I get most of the important national and international news right here on Cast Boolits, someone will mention it and if I am interested I'll Google it for details.
