http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/184884f2715e4ab3f3.jpg ('http://castboolits.gunloads.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=3682')

.389" crimp to meplat. Ready to load weights of 1) small HP 249 gr. 2) large HP 241 gr. 3) solid 259 gr.

HP Price:
$120/4C + $16 additional pins + $20 shipping
Solid Price:
$90/4C + $20 shipping

Options and details . .
1. Mold will be four cavity brass (a two cavity can also be cut if there's enough interest. If you're interested in a two cavity make a post saying so and I'll assemble a list. Two cavity pricing would be $90/HP and $70 solid. Fifteen minimum.)
2. Available in .432 and .434 diameters (WW). No mixing cavities.
3. If you prefer a solid, that's also available. No mixing of cavities, though.
4. HP molds come with one set of round pins. Additional pin sets are $16. Blank pins–pins you form yourself–also $16. Lastly "plug pins,"–$16–are available to cast solids if you want to avoid the hollow point pins projecting from the bottom of the mold when reversed.

Please include your (disguised) email address with your request. Miha will send out invoices about the time the buy gets closed. Payment's through PayPal (he's in Slovenia). Shipping's direct.

I'll respond...2 of the following order: 4C Cramer HP with small HP pins, set of pins for penta HP and set for "plug" (solid point), set of handles. According to my calculation, that will run $120, plus $32 for the extra pin sets, plus $20 shipping, plus the handles (let me know the price), times 2. I believe there is a discount on the shipping for two at the same time, so not sure total exact price, I guess Miha will let me know on the final invoice. These are, of course, brass molds.

I don't see my small HP pins on the list (should be small HP pins, Penta pins, and plug pins). It comes with one set, then the other two sets are $16 each set, right?

simonjester76
01-31-2012, 05:41 AM
The HP pins are the small pins. The large HP pins are shown in 45 2.1's drawing (as the deeper cavity in the bullet).

Regardless you are correct. The mold comes with a set of "small pins", adding the large or Penta or plug pins would add $16 each.

This, in fact, is a detail that never got worked out as to which of the two HP pin styles were standard, which were optional and whether one was a penta configuration. Also, the possibility of whether the customer may simply choose which single set of pins might be included. Yesterday I wrote to to Miha about this, and am awaiting a reply. I suggested the smaller HP pins be standard, and the larger be of the penta type and optional. I believe that's the typical arrangement. I've been treating it this way listing the orders. Hope it seems satisfactory, and I'm waiting for confirmation from Miha.

Hi Sam,
Hope you are doing well. My barrel slugs at 0.430, should I opt for the 0.434? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the reminder. Been out of the country for a bit, sorry I did not reply sooner. Work computer locks us out of non company sites...

I would really like a 2 cavity in the following orders, but if unavailable I would like to order 1 of each in:

4 cavity Large Hollow Point $120
Small HP pins $16
4 cavity solid $90

Shipping $20 (would it be $20 for a single order of the above?)

Total: $246 (if another $20 shipping is required, no problem)

Hi Lucas,
Measure the throats of your gun(s) and get the size that's close but a little bigger.
I'll put you down for 4 cavity molds, and as interested in 2 cavity's as well.
Just a reminder; you can cast solids with the hollow point mold.

Reload3006, sorry I misunderstood your meaning. Billing won't be for a while on this one!
I put you down for penta and plug pins. Thus, you'll have small HP pins, larger HP penta pins and flat pins (which allow the mold to be placed on a hot plate when casting solids). As I believe you know, any of the hollow point pins can be reversed to cast solids but they'll project from the bottom of the mold when doing so.
Answered the PM. Please let me know which address to use. Thanks.

Sam,
Please change my Penta HP pins to large HP pins. Thanks.

I wrote to Miha some time ago asking about whether Penta pins were part of the design (if they were, probably they'd be the larger pins) but never heard back from him. I'll try again. 45 2.1's drawing certainly showed large and small hollow points, but the question of whether there'd be pentas is still open. If the large are pentas, then getting round ones might be a special request (and vice-versa). I know I need to get a definitive answer on this. I'll take the pentas off your order for now if you like, and I'll push a little harder to get this straightened out.

Looks like you're in luck!

Regarding the large pins, still haven't heard back about large round pins, etc.. I do know the large penta pins ordinarily cast about the same weight as round. Looking at the drawing, the opening is approximately the same for large and small, and the large is deeper. I don't expect the large pins, whether penta or round, to produce a "flying ashtray" type boolit.
Soon as I hear back I'll post Miha's answer.

"Small, large and pentas will be available for this one."

He also hopes to have some pictures soon! I can't say for sure whether the penta pins will be large or small–usually they're large–but large and small round pins are available. For now we'll say small round are included, and large penta pins and round pins (along with plugs and blanks) are the options.

SD,
As it stands, I believe the smaller round pins are standard with the mold, while the large round, penta, etc. are options. Don't know for sure if Miha will offer a choice on a particular included set such as large round, but I don't think so. You could probably ask when he sends the invoice.
At any rate, I'll take the penta's off your order. If you'd like me to add large round please let me know.

Hello Matt,
All the HP moulds come with small HP pins. I've only been listing the optional pin sets, as the small HP set is included with all orders that aren't solids. I'd like to avoid changing the existing format so as to avoid confusion.

Thanks Paul

Put you on the interested list for a 2C. It could happen, though it would require some ten or twelve more signing on for it.

white eagle,
The standard pins are the shallower ones. For deep pins–additional–you'll have a choice of large round or penta. Please let me know which you'd prefer and I'll update the order.

Shawn,
I put your order in as requested. That'll include small, the two types of large, plug and grind your own blanks. Just so you know.

emj,
I put you down as interested in a 2C, though it'll take about fifteen people for that to be cut in addition to the 4C. That is, it's not a sure thing right now. About ten more buyers are needed.
Only the 4C is a sure thing right now.
I hope it happens, as Miha's 2C molds are popular for many people who find the 4C mold a bit heavy to handle. Plus, 2C molds are also a bit less money.

This looks like a chance to get a 429244 that will cast the right size with out going to Lyman #2 :>) I need to end up with .431 out of 50/50 alloy. so it seems .434 would be best.
I'd like to order a 2 cavity .434 solid. NO pins at all. If the large pins were not so big at the top, I would order a mould with HP pins, but looking at the sketch it looks like a bigger diameter than I want. So, I think I'm better off ordering solid and and having Erik do his magic.

sffar
11-15-2012, 05:37 AM
Irascible,
The 2 Cavity mold will only get cut if there's enough interest. For the time being the 4 cavity is what's going to get made. I put you on the 2C interest list, so if you want to order a 4 cavity let me know.
The HP version will come standard with the small HP pins–the shallower of the two lines on the diagram.
Thanks.

Steve

All HP mold orders will include the smaller HP pins, while the optional large HP and penta pins will result in about the same size cavity (and weight). All HP pins may be reversed to cast solids, while the plug pins are an option to allow people who like to preheat on a hotplate to rest the mold flat when doing so.

I suppose you could say roughly a year, but it depends on the maker and how they determine what's next. So far as I know Miha has not stated a policy regarding his scheduling. All I can say is, it's got to be sooner rather than later, or at least I hope so.

This is my first time, so I'm not sure how it's done. I'd like the large HP mould, 2-cavity, .432 (I think .432, anyway - I use 1 part tin, 16 parts lead alloy, cylinder throats .4325", bore is .4295"). So, cost would be $90? If you need any more info., let me know.

I would prefer the large HP as the set that comes with the mold if possible instead of the small ones, but if not I can always use the pins from my other MP mold my Email address is lksmith (underscore) 03 at yahoo dot com.
I just received the following email from Miha this morning:

Hi,

Sorry for late reply.

As we speak I don't have any 429244-Cramer-HP on hands.
I will machine some more, but hard to tell any exact date. I'm prety booooooooked right now.

Best regards,
Miha

Sorry but you can take me off the 2 cavity wish list.
Just scored a vintage single in the swappin section.
As I was gonna do solids anyways I jumped.
Maybe next time

Updated.
Sorry for the delay, and slow response to PM's. Thanks to Simonjester76 and Grandpas50AE for keeping things rolling.
Welcome, MDF99, jimb., Dwayneinfo, vaughan61, ben lurkin, hotbrew, kendwell, bcr, 35 Whelen and lksmith!
Those who wanted all pins, I put you down for all except the grind your own style. If you'd like that option as well please let me know.
lksmith, thanks for the reply from Miha. I'll try him again. I'll need a size from you, by the way. This buy can't go on forever, though it will be worth the wait provided we don't all become ancient in the meantime.

Please add me to list: .434 Dia, small, lg and penta pins, two cavity. If only the 4-cavity is run, I'll take that in lieu of the Two cavity.

Updated.
Welcome Brumatt, 44 mag nut, Rodfac, Nabind, funshooter and sparkz.
sparkz, the smaller round HP pins are standard, Penta, large round, plugs (for laying flat) and blank (grind your own) are optional. The HP pins can all get reversed for casting solids. I left your order with the smaller standard pins. Please let me know if you want changes.
I'll be writing to Miha, and will post any information on when this is likely to get made.

Sam,
Thanks for the update, I'm really anxious on this one, bought a Lubsizer (3 actually since it was a good deal), got Gas Checks and sizing die.
Since my 45cal Mihec mold I'm hooked on these custom molds!

I'm hooked, too. Miha's work is first rate and reasonably priced. Can take a while to get, though!
