lyman 45 difficulity...HELP !

I recently picked up a Lyman45 and I am having trouble getting the pressure plug to come out of the cylinder ! The threads on the plug dont seem to want to engage on the threaded rod so I am unable to back out the plug. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

If the plug is at the top of the cylinder, just grab onto it and pull. If the plug is trapped at the bottom of the cylinder, take the sizer off of the bench and turn out the pressure screw with the cap off, pressing down as you're turning it. The pressure screw will engage the plug, and will start to come out the bottom of the casting. When you have about 1/2 inch out of the casting, push the screw back up, bolt down the sizer, and run the plug up as normal.....

If all else fails, the lube reservoir is threaded and can be unscrewed from the casting.
