Had a bit of a windfall yesterday. I was given some casting gear. An old SAECO 10lb pot, 9 lyman molds and about 150 lbs of lead. The lead is all old typesetting lead. The only problem I'm having is that I can't figure out these molds. The 6 character reference numbers like11391, 113410 and 429234 (30 cal's and 44cal) I got from the Lyman website. Well, not the 113410, I think that it is one they don'r make any more. The others are giving my some problems. I'll list the numbers as they appear on the molds and if anybody can identify them for me I'd really appreaciate it.
A. 130
B. 50BB
C. 356 402
645
D. 358 156
354
E. nothing is stamped on the mold. The bullet base measures .459
F. 456 424
I really like to know what I have here. They look to be in good shape and as there doesn't seem to be a .45 swc mold in the bunch I'll be offering a trade as soon as I find out for sure what these are. Thanks

Here is a chart I use all the time that may help ID some of those molds:

http://www.three-peaks.net/bullet_molds.htm

Are you looking for a .45 SWC? I have a 2 cavity Lee 452-190-SWC (190 Grain SWC) that I was eventually planning to trade for a Lee 228 or 230 grain Round or Truncated Nose in .452", or sell ($20 shipped) so I could buy one. I have yet to cast a single bullet, but I am getting ready to do so fairly soon. I have two molds now (.38/357 and .45), and one more on the way (9mm) that I bought off of smokinjoe here on cast boolits.

I had found that chart and identified the molds stamped with 6 digits but some of the molds only have 3 numbers and others have three sets of 3 numbers that don't show up on that chart. I guess I'll cast some boolits from those molds and mic them to see what I can come up with. thanks for the response.

The 356402, 358156, 454424(I'm guessing it's the same) are all on the site from that link.

A. 130 -----.45 acp. 185g
B. 50BB -----.38 SPCL/.357 Mag. .358 148g

the above numbers Look like they could be the same as some moulds on the below web site

http://hgmould.gunloads.com/casting/hgmoldchart.htm

if they are H & G you are very lucky

Pictures are on the site so you can compare

Also some reading material

Colector items and sought after and they also make very good Boolits

Thanks again for the replies. My #130 mold sure looks like the pictures on the H&G web site. Best of all it's .45 cal. I'll try and get some pictures up tomorrow.

Use our very own sister site Cast Pics for mould ID references.

Link at the bottom of the page or here: http://www.castpics.net/subsite/default.html

I cleaned up those molds today and they are H&G. When I looked a little closer after I went to the web sites (thanks Ford and dromia) I found the H&G logo. It is barely visable on the 130 mold. I'd like to trade the 50BB for some other equipment if anybody is interested. Such as sizing dies and I need a mold for 9X18 mak. I'll get some pictures of the molds up in a day or two. I'd have done it today but the wife has the camera and is out of town. Thanks again for helping me find out what molds I have.
